Justice for Bilel! For an anti- racist investigation of deadly police violence!

A traffic stop ends with 34 shots being fired at 19-year-old Bilel from Herford. On 3 June 2023, the youth fled from a police control. The police followed him and in a dead-end street, one town further on, the 34 shots were fired, 6 policemen and policewomen shot at close range. He barely survived and will probably be paraplegic for the rest of his life. The shooters claim they acted in self-defence. 

However, they handcuffed the seriously injured Bilel after the shooting, with six bullets in his body, before calling the ambulance. Bilel is being investigated for attempted murder, the police for attempted assault.

We doubt the police version of events and demand an independent and just investigation into the police violence. 

Sections of the local press and far-right groups such as Nius News have used this incident to create an narrative portraying migrant youth as criminals and a major threat to the city and the country. The rapid spread and normalisation of this portrayal shows how the authoritarian shift to the right works in live. It turns criticism of the police into racist agitation and fear-mongering and denigrates the demand for democratic control of police violence as treason. In the final consequence, it relativises the meaning that a young life has.  

Perhaps there are many people in this country who would rather we remain silent and not speak out even when we are being exploited, abused or killed. Who would rather see us divided and bent over than together on the streets. But we will not do that.

Our solidarity and compassion is with the victim, his family and friends! The police is lying!

Bilel için adalet! Ölümcül polis şiddetine karşı ırkçılık-karşıtı bir soruşturma için!

Trafik çevirmesi, 19 yaşındaki Herford’lu Bilel’e açılan 34 el ateşle son buldu.3 Haziran 2023’de, bir genç polis kontrolünden kaçıyordu.Polis onu bir süre takip etti ve bir kasaba ilerideki çıkmaz bir sokağa gelindiğinde, altı kadın ve erkek polis memuru tarafından, yakın mesafeden 34 el ateş edildi. Bu tasvirin hızla yayılması ve normalleşmesi, otoriter sağa kaymanın nasıl işlediğini gözler önüne seriyor. Polise yönelik eleştirileri, ırkçı bir duygu sömürüsüne ve korku borazanlığına dönüştürüyor ve polis şiddetini demokratik olarak kontrol etme talebini vatana ihanet olarak karalıyor. Ve nihai sonuç olarak, bir gencin yaşamını göreceli hale getiriyor.

Belki de bu ülkede hala sömürülmüş, istismar edilmiş veya ölmüş olsak bile sessiz kalmamızı ve ses çıkarmamamızı tercih eden çok sayıda insan var. Bizi sokaklarda bir arada görmektense parçalanmış ve iki büklüm halde görmeyi tercih eden insanlar… Ancak bunu yapmayacağız.

Gerechtigkeit für Bilel! Für eine umfassende Aufklärung tödlicher Polizeigewalt!

Eine Verkehrskontrolle endet mit 34 Schüssen auf den 19-Jährigen Bilel aus Herford. Am 3. Juni 2023 flüchtet der Jugendliche vor einer Polizeikontrolle. Die Polizei verfolgt ihn, und in einer Sackgasse, einen Ort weiter, wird 34 mal auf ihn geschossen,sechs Polizistinnen und Polizisten schossen aus nächster Nähe. Er überlebte nur knapp und wird vermutlich für den Rest seines Lebens querschnittsgelähmt sein. Die Schützen behaupten sie hätten aus Notwehr gehandelt. 

Dem schwer verletzten Bilel werden jedoch nach den Schüssen mit sechs Kugeln im Körper Handschellen angelegt, bevor der Notarzt gerufen wird. Gegen Bilel wird wegen versuchten Mordes in zwei Fällen ermittelt, gegen die Polizei wegen versuchter Körperverletzung.

Wir zweifeln an der Darstellung der Polizei und fordern eine unabhängige und umfassende Aufklärung der Polizeigewalt. 

Teile der lokalen Presse und rechtsextreme Gruppen wie Nius News haben diesen Vorfall genutzt, um ein Bild zu schaffen, in dem migrantische Jugendliche als kriminell und Bedrohung für die Stadt und das Land dargestellt werden. Die schnelle Verbreitung und Normalisierung dieser Darstellung zeigt, wie der autoritäre Rechtsruck in Echtzeit funktioniert. Er wendet Kritik an der Polizei in rassistische Hetze, Angstmacherei und verunglimpft die Forderung nach demokratischer Kontrolle von Polizeigewalt als Verrat. In letzter Konsequenz relativiert er die Bedeutung die ein junges Leben hat.  

Vielleicht gibt es viele Menschen in diesem Land, die lieber möchten, dass wir schweigen und nicht unsere Stimme erheben, auch wenn wir ausgebeutet, misshandelt oder getötet werden. Die uns lieber gespalten und gebückt als gemeinsam auf der Straße sehen wollen. Doch das werden wir nicht tun.
